we will conduct some system maintenance tasks (distribution upgrade, package upgrades, full reboot) on the machine hosting the data acquisition services for beekeepers (swarm.hiveeyes.org) this night.
Because of this, the system will be partly unavailable for a while. We do not expect the maintenance tasks to take longer than an hour in total.
We are planning to:
Upgrade the Linux system from Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) to Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch).
Upgrade InfluxDB from 1.5.3 to 1.6.4.
Upgrade Grafana from 5.1.3 to 5.3.2.
Either run Mosquitto as a systemd unit or downgrade from 1.5.3 (upstream) to 1.4.10 (Debian) in an attempt to mitigate ongoing tricky but funny issues with it, see also Ausfall der Datenannahme am 1. November 2018 um 06:52 Uhr ff.
We are sorry for any inconveniences this might cause to you.
As everything seems to be pretty with this upgrade, we will apply the same procedure to the other data acquisition system (weather.hiveeyes.org) this night.
We ask for your understanding regarding the unavailability of the systems while the maintenance tasks will happen.
