Data acquisition outage while restarting all machines after upgrading the Linux Kernel

Debian is shipping some important Linux Kernel updates. See also:

We will reboot all machines over the course of the next hours. Please hold the line.

P.S.: You will experience two downtimes: First, we will reboot all guest machines directly providing services and afterwards we will reboot the hypervisors the guest machines are running on.

We haven’t been able to conduct the upgrade and reboot on our datalogger backend services yet. So, this is still pending. Please be prepare for some minutes of outage during the next hours or days.

Thanks for listening and sorry for the inconvenience.

We just mitigated the issues referenced above by installing the most recent Kernel shipped by Debian. After rebooting the respective machines just a few minutes ago, all systems should be normal again.

Please let us know if you experience any issues.

Thanks and with kind regards,
Andreas.
