The Tensilica toolchain is rubbish. Developing anything against it is a real PITA, even for hobby projects. It’d be interesting to have a cheap wifi-enabled module that has an ARM Cortex core in it (or a RISC-V, though I wonder what is the state of affairs in the toolchain arena).
