@einsiedlerkrebs and me upgraded the software releases on our platform server swarm.hiveeyes.org to their most recent versions. The upgrade worked fine, we didn’t have any issues.
Now we’re running:
- InfluxDB 1.2.0 (0.13.0 so far)
- MongoDB 2.4.10 (no change)
- Grafana 4.2.0-6931pre1 (3.0.4-1464167696 so far)
- Mosquitto 1.4.10 (1.4.8 so far)
- Kotori 0.11.1 (0.10.10 so far)
While there haven’t been any significant changes on the infrastructure side and it was mostly about keeping the platform up to date and improving the robustness, we want to highlight a few hot spots you might find interesting.
- The new features of Grafana 4 are outlined at Grafana 4.0 Stable Release and Grafana 4.1 Release.
- The current release of Kotori introduces a few new things:
- Accept timestamp field “
time
” from sensor readings, see also HTTP readings with timestamp and MQTT readings with timestamp. This feature enables sensor nodes sending their own timestamps and importing historical data retroactively. - Add data acquisition channel using CSV over HTTP for single and bulk readings, see also HTTP CSV data acquisition. We also used that feature for publishing historical data from some of our community members.
- Add API endpoints, routing and subsystem for creating timeseries annotations, see also Annotations over HTTP and Annotations over MQTT. There’s also a small demonstration dashboard using annotations. Update: Some people are already using it, like MUC-MH-B99 and Mois.
- Accept timestamp field “
We would like to thank all those who contributed to the new release through various ideas, suggestions and testing! Last but not least, all of this would not be possible without the people working hard on the numerous upstream projects: Thanks a bunch!
